Ninth Annual International All-Star, All-Steel Ho`olaule`a Ho`olaule`a

HSGA will hold its International All-Star, All-Steel Ho`olaule`a at the Ala Wai Golf Course auditorium in Honolulu. It is FREE to the public, and will begin at 4:30 PM. The access road to the golf course is off Kapahulu Avenue, next to the Waikiki public library.

"We're starting early again this year so that folks who have to work on Monday, and families with small children can be on their way home before 8 p.m.," stated Alan Akaka, President of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association, and producer of the annual concert. Doors to the auditorium will open at 4 PM. "Come early for the best seats," Alan says.

At this time, it is expected that the program will follow the same format as last year, with Jerry Byrd, the "Master of Touch and Tone", leading the first half of the program, and Alan Akaka introducing the second half all-professional, all Hawaiian steel guitar program. Harry Soria is the emcee. As always, by popular demand, the Ho`olaule`a will conclude with a Hawaiian steel guitar "Hot Lix" jam session.
