I realize A6 isn't a terribly popular tuning on this board. Still, I post these tabs in the hope I'll make a few converts...
Tab - My Little Chickadee Don Kona Woods posted the video to the SGF and then, in response to this very excellent video of Jerry playing a tricone, I posted the tab on the Tab section of the SGF. I think there's at least a
few A6 enthusiasts on that board.
I encourage everyone on this board to give A6 a try. IMHO it's the best of 2 worlds: the upper 3 strings form the major triad similar to Dobro tuning, the bottom 3 strings include a 6th tone making it a 6th tuning. As I recall Jeff Au Hoy pointing out on another thread, if you place a resonator capo on the third fret of a guitar tuned to A6, you now have C6.
And might I add: it's a
better C6. A C6 a la Joaquin Murphy with the 5th tone on top (although he didn't confine himself to 6 strings and, similar to a ukulele, his "lowest" string was actually tuned high).
Anyway, you might enjoy it. Thank you, Don, for sharing these videos. Note: and thank you David Matzenik for setting me straight on the name to this piece
