Some of the Chanos gig.
From Texas Ernie Coker and Family
We were fascinated by Ernie's stories about how when Spade Cooley came to town his steel guitarist Joaquin" Murphey always asked Ernie up to play a couple of numbers.
The Time at Sol Hoopii's apartment when listening to a Spade Cooley broadcast, Sol asked Ernie "How does he do that ? " I never knew Ernie was a pupil of Sol's, and the number Ernie played that he said Sol used to play on the Hawaii Calls Show.. Totally fascinating and invaluable information.

Basil,

Thanks again for bringing us video of Chanos, especially of the steel guitar playing here.  Cool
It is nice to see what other steel players do with the instrument.

If spooling through the above video is a problem, then this will solve it.

This is a link directly to the set where I play the Chris Drew "Bristolian" (3/4 size weissenborn style) and the Harry Shepard "Harbour Lights" guitars, (and My Fender 1000 and 1970 Emmons SD10.)

Thanks for asking Paul, E6th, sometimes E13th..
At the Chanos gig it was E6th exclusively.
From the first string:-
E-C#-B-G#-E-C#-(or D)-B-E
That Harbour Lights Steel Guitar by Harry Sheppard was/is magnificent.
Chris Drew's 3/4 size Wiessenborn is specially scaled to be readily playable by an electric lap steel player, the scale length is 22.5"..

That YouTube video of the "Bristolian" is slightly "Out of Sync" so this one may be easier to watch. If the commercial at the beginning is annoying, just click the X in the top corner to stop it.

I could only take a few of my guitars to Chanos due to space limitations in the car.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
