| The steel guitar flourished between the years 1925-1950. Its music could easily be heard on radio, in nightclubs and on recordings. The major music manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon and quickly produced instruments, instructional methods, sheet music and accessories to meet the huge demand. Hollywood took note of the craze and produced numerous "Polynesian" movies featuring the box office stars of the day. These vintage ads are from the May-June 1948 edition of "Music" magazine. This magazine was produced by the Oahu Publishing company of Cleveland, Ohio. Click on the images to enlarge them. | ||
