| Harvest Moon |
Sometimes you hear a tune that does not get out of your head no matter how you try... so I had to do something about it. I recorded it. This is Neil Young's cross-over song, recently featured in the movie "Eat, Pray, Love."
Played on West Coast Steelocaster A6 tuning and MSA Classic XL pedal steel using the E9 neck, key of D. The backing consists of two custom backing tracks (bass, keyboard, percussion) layered with two rhythm guitar tracks (Martin custom X), two keyboard tracks for a total of 16 tracks. All layers by Kay Das.

"Georgia on My Mind" was written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael, who wrote some more great songs (Stardust) . It is the official state song of the US State of Georgia.

This lovely tune, a great love song, was composed and first sung by Garth Brooks, then by Ronan Keating. Hank Marvin played it beautifully as an instrumental in his album "Guitar Player."
Played on Steelocaster A6 tuning, key of Bb. The first part is based around the 6th and surrounding frets using the bridge pick-up, no swell pedal; the second part is played around the 13th to 20th frets and with the bridge and middle pick-ups selected, and uses a swell pedal.

My good friend and a great steel guitarist from Belgium sent me this beautiful melody in which he plays tribute to Father Damien of Moloka'i, who hailed from Belgium, too. I loved it, different from the familiar Hawaiian flavours... played from the heart.
Father Damien Day is celebrated in Hawai'i on April 15. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in Rome on June 4, 1995.
